Entrance examinations can be a daunting prospect, coming as a package deal with a big transition in your child’s life. At both 11+ and 13+ level, our tutors aim to ease this transition, as well as supporting both child and family through an otherwise potentially stressful process. Many of our tutors have been through these exams themselves in their time and, as such, bring their own experience to the table.

We offer support for all elements of 11+ and 13+ examinations: reasoning, comprehension, creative writing and mathematics. The fundamental skills needed for each of these tasks include time management, problem solving and communication. We find the best way to practise these skills—as well as monitoring the tutee’s progress—is through frequent past papers. Our tutors can then identify problem areas and provide personalised feedback in a safe space free of expectation or comparison.

Our online software records and saves all resources used by our tutors in their sessions, allowing our tutees to return to it at any time. The software also saves annotations, and the voice-recognition element allows for in-transcript searching. This is ideal for revision, providing a bank of past papers, annotations and feedback for your child to review.

Tutoring at both 11+ and 13+ level is a case of sharpening the tools already in your child’s arsenal. We hope to provide them with the technique—the ‘tips and tricks’—needed to understand and react to examination-style questions, without coaching their originality out of them.
